James Kavanagh has been appointed director of communications EMEA at Ticketmaster. He has joined from the One Nine Three Group, a subsidiary of Freuds, and announced his new role last month.
Kavanagh will focus on reactive communications and press activity for the company, leading the press office function, and reports to Ticketmaster’s vice president for communications.
He is responsible for managing media enquiries, maintaining strong relationships with trade and national press, and overseeing day-to-day comms that support Ticketmaster’s reputation in the UK and across EMEA markets.
“From new client announcements to crisis responses, this role is all about delivering timely, accurate and strategically aligned communications,” according to Ticketmaster.
He will also “play a supporting role in issue and crisis management, working across teams and business divisions”.
Kavanagh describes himself on his LinkedIn profile as a “communications leader with more than a decade's experience advising boards, CEOs and global brands”.
Prior to becoming a director at corporate affairs and financial comms agency the One Nine Three Group last year, he spent several years at the Freuds Group, where he was a director. Other previous positions include chief communications officer at the Sustainable Markets Initiative and associate director at FGS Global.
