Georgia Elander has taken up a role as special communications adviser for Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party of England and Wales.
Elander joined Polanski’s team from her role as a media officer for Carla Denyer, the Green MP for Bristol Central and former party co-leader with Adrian Ramsey MP.
The role has been newly created to “provide strategic communications support to the leader as the Green Party moves into a new phase of growth”.
Elander will be responsible for Polanski’s day-to-day comms as well as looking at long-term strategic aims. She sits within the overall Green Party’s comms team.
Prior to working for Denyer, Elander worked as a media officer for more than two years at Liberty, an independent member organisation for human rights.
She was also a media officer for the Centre for Ageing Better and a group development and social media co-ordinator for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Polanski was elected as leader of the Greens last year, replacing Denyer and Ramsey and beating a rival bid from Ramsay and Ellie Chowns MP. He has also been a member of the London Assembly since 2021.
The party has seen a massive surge in membership, reporting to have more than 170,000 members in November 2025. It currently has four MPs in Parliament and two members of the House of Lords.
